What is a freight dispatcher? +

A freight dispatcher finds and negotiates loads on behalf of truck drivers and carriers. At Haul 48, your dedicated dispatcher handles all broker communication, rate negotiation, and paperwork so you focus on driving.

Do you force me to take loads? +

Absolutely not. You have 100% final say on every load. We present the best options we've negotiated and you decide. No pressure, no minimums, no penalties for declining a load.

How does the percentage fee work? +

We charge a flat percentage of the gross load rate — between 6–8% depending on your plan. No weekly fees, no setup charges, no hidden billing. If you don't run, you don't pay.

What equipment types do you dispatch? +

We dispatch all major equipment types: flatbed, dry van, reefer, power only, step deck, RGN, lowboy, box truck, and sprinter van. If it hauls freight, we can dispatch it.

How quickly can I start running loads? +

Most drivers are set up and running loads within 24–72 hours of completing their setup packet. We expedite broker packet approval and have established relationships that speed up onboarding.

Do I need my own MC authority? +

Yes, you need your own active MC number and DOT authority. If you're setting up, our Carrier Setup service can help you navigate FMCSA registration and get compliant quickly.

What states do you cover? +

We cover all 48 continental United States. Our broker network spans coast to coast, meaning we can find you high-paying freight regardless of where you're located or where your lane takes you.

Is there a long-term contract? +

No long-term contracts. We earn your business load by load. Our dispatch agreement outlines the terms clearly, and you can cancel with proper notice. We're confident in our service.
